It’s not just the time I spend writing, but the time I spend planning, researching, and reporting that is supported by upgrading. You also get access to our (very active) subscriber Discord server, as well as events.

I’m also excited to announce that we will be doing a virtual author event with Julie Kliegman about their new book, FINDING RENEE RICHARDS. It will be Thursday, September 24 at 8 PM ET/5 PM PT. It will be open for All-Access VIP and Biggest Fan tier subscribers, so stay tuned for a registration link soon.

lesbian brands have always supported women's sports

For Xtra, I wrote about why Olivia Travel partnering with the Women’s Professional Baseball League is such a big deal, and how it’s tied to queer history and our queer future, all at once. From the article:

“Olivia’s founding partnership with the WPBL is one that makes so much sense for both the league and the travel brand, but it’s the kind of sponsorship that has fallen away from women’s sports leagues as they have become more mainstream. As the WPBL becomes the first mainstream professional women’s baseball league in the U.S. in nearly 70 years, this partnership shows how far the sport has come. There has always been an alliance between lesbian bars and companies and women’s sports leagues, even if that collaboration was hidden or unspoken.”

In the article, I mention a variety of ads and sponsorships throughout history, from the 1970s through today.

Here are the visuals to accompany those descriptions, along with some bonus content:
