Back in 1999, the WNBA released a “soundtrack.” The CD was called “Divas on the Court” and is an incredible time capsule—and also incredibly random. Thanks to the book COURT QUEENS by Emma Baccellieri and Jordan Robinson for unearthing this gem and sharing it with us.
Together with the OOYL Discord community, as well as Emma and Jordan during our author event with them last month, we brainstormed what a 2026 version of a WNBA soundtrack would look like for the league’s 30th season.
We decided that we would keep some songs but largely update it. We also made the executive decision to ban Drake from the list. Here’s what we came up with:
